Arte Andino hat sehr engen, geschäftlichen Kontakt zu den Hutflechtern in Ecuador, und deshalb die Möglichkeit “Faire Preise”, völlig unabhängig von den Weltmarktpreisen, zu bezahlen. Dadurch wird die Existenz dieser Familien weitgehend gesichert und die Lebensqualität verbessert.

“Arte Andino” besteht aus einem multidisziplinären Team aus Ecuadorianern aber auch Deutschen, die sich mit Förderung und Vermarktung handgefertigter Produkte in verschiedenen Regionen von Ecuador, mit einem Sinn für soziale Verantwortung identifizieren können.

Unsere Mission ist es, Produkte von Hut Flechtern und Huthandwerkern aus Ecuador direkt und ohne Zwischenhändler anbieten zu können.

Through our knowledge of Ecuadorian reality, we appreciate handmade products made by master hands.   These experienced craftsmen don't have a title, but one that is certainly deserved.   We started providing financial support in Montecristi directly and proportionally; we personally visit every single person who visits our Montecristihut Hats have been working.  For us, fair trade is not just about paying a fair price, because unfortunately this also only helps families in the short term.  We also want those who work hard every day to create something, get a little more and make something of it; for this reason, the hat weavers involved and their association receive an additional share of the profits from us, tax-free. For small families, this is often more than the original selling price of the blanks (fully woven hat).  Buying a Montecristi from us is definitely a fair trade deal Montecristihut with fair prices and fair profit sharing in solidarity.
