Panama straw of the finest quality has been handcrafted into this luxurious summer hat.

✓ Processing time approx. 2 to 3 months.

Unfortunately, there are many dealers who sell Cuenca hats, which go up to grade 16 and rarely 18, as Montecristi hats . 

However, genuine Montecristi hats only start at grade 16. We take great care to ensure that our Montecristi hats are genuine Montecristi, which is why each of our hats comes with a certificate of authenticity.

All of the world's major hat manufacturers primarily purchase the finished woven hats from Montecristi, also known as blanks, and simply shape them. Very often, this process no longer takes place in Ecuador.

Firstly, the term “Sombrero Montecristi” in German Montecristi Hat is a protected term.

This may therefore only be used if the hat was actually 100% made in Montecristi.  

Secondly, Ecuador's hat weaving art was designated an intangible cultural heritage in 2012, due to the unique processing and weaving techniques of this legendary craft. 

This exclusive hat is a natural product, and each piece is unique. Minor color variations and small imperfections are not a quality defect. They underscore the authenticity of the material.
